NEW ---- Information regarding the Feb 20th robotics event = it will be an all day activity - going as long as 4pm

I just got this information, below, today-

BEYA will provide a bus which will depart from Western around 6:30 – 7:00am and the bus has a 50 – 52 seat capacity. Both parents and students may ride the bus as long as we don’t go over capacity.

But remember we will probably have around 30 students so it would be approximately 10 parents from each school

The bus will depart the civic center to Western (I think its western high in the city- just off 83 on Cold spring Rd.) right after the awards   ceremony around 4:00.

Students will probably get a lunch voucher which they can use with the venders at the conference.

If students want to ride downtown with their parent separately that OK

The part of the conference that will run the Vex contest is open to the public for free.

There will be (what they called a soft start) with the actual contest starting later (My assumption around 9:30).

We will have to register on the Vex website. So if you email me the team numbers I can do that for you. Or if you want to do it yourself, for payment put in send check and it will be handled from there.

Parents, if your situation has changed regarding the Feb 20 event, please contact me.  Thank you.

Please email me if your son/daughter cannot make it to one, or both, of the final two events we are scheduled for.  I need this information right away.  Thank you.

posted 12/13/09

Our schedule is for two more Vex events on February 20 and 27, 2010.

We may possibly have an event in January for 2 teams.

That will be it for our competitions this year.

We are a middle school club and the aim of this club is to increase student awareness of engineering

and related careers and activities in a fun and applied atmosphere.

The idea is to motivate kids to work harder in school and to show that math, science, technology and engineering can be fun and rewarding careers.

BREAKING  NEWS  !!!    Tournament dates announced

Saturday Feb 20th - We are invited to a contest at the Black Engineer Conference

at the Baltimore Convention Center.

The Black Engineer of the Year Awards is planning to include a middle school vex robotics contest. This will be free for all your teams and BEYA will provide transportation to the downtown convention center and lunch. Some of the top engineering companies in the nation will be attending and this would be an excellent chance for your students to meet an engineer and learn more about careers in engineering.
